Before such classic novels as The Drive-In, The Bottoms, Cold in July, and the Hap and Leonard suspense novels, Joe R. Lansdale made his reputation with short stories like "Night They Missed the Horror Show," "The Pit," and "Steel Valentine."
Mad Dog Summer and Other Stories continues hisownself's mastery of the short story, with tales of a very weird future, a nostalgic past, and two Hap and Leonard short stories -- one written in collaboration with Andrew Vachss.
Lansdale's major new collection will contain his newest, best work from venues obscure and familiar, as well as at least one long original story written exclusively for SubPress, and a "story notes" section in which Joe talks about each of the stories.
In addition, the deluxe limited edition will have an extra section not contained in the regular limited edition as well as a completely different full-color dustjacket!
Mad Dog Summer and Other Stories will be available only from Subterranean Press in two editions:
Limited: Signed fully cloth bound hardcover
Deluxe: Limited to 250 signed and numbered copies, housed in a handcrafted slipcase, with extra material and an exclusive dustjacket
