Steven Erikson's MEMORIES OF ICE Available Again

April 7

As some of you may remember, we received a number of copies of the second printing of Steven Erikson’s Memories of Ice that were not in anything close to acceptable condition. We returned the rejects to our printer for rework, which included reprinting some sections, rebinding, and more.

We’re happy to have copies in stock once again, to allow Steve’s many fans to fill out their Malazan collections.

What are the specs on Malazan books moving forward?

The second printing books have experienced numerous printing and binding issues. We had to move Memories of Ice to a new printer due to these issues. To address materials availability and quality control issues, we’ve made a few changes that began with the third printing of Gardens of the Moon.

Memories of Ice follows the new specifications. We intend that, if circumstances allow, future Malazan reprints will follow these specifications. We cannot guarantee this, however.

The second printing of Memories of Ice:

  • Contains all of the illustrations from the original numbered edition;
  • Is printed on 60# Lynx paper (instead of 80# due to the length of the book);
  • The image on the front boards of the book will be stamped in two colors rather than embossed;
  • The book edges are not gilded.

For this edition, Subterranean Press has licensed custom marbling art by artist Jemma Lewis. Jemma sent us the original art, which was used to create the endpapers. This is one of her contemporary designs that is instantly recognizable as a Jemma Lewis piece.

Signed Second Printing: Approximately 1000 hardcover copies signed by the author: $200

Valente, Volume One is one of the largest collections we've ever published.We're happy to note that the length of Cat's collection is exceeded by its excellence, as Publishers Weekly noted in a starred review:“Valente (Space Opera) shows off her versatility in this mind-blowing collection of 45 stories. Publishers Weekly on Under My Skin by K. J. Parker

Before we get to Publishers Weekly's glowing review of K. J. Parker's Under My Skin, we wanted to highlight that this huge collection—nearly 700 pages—includes a full length original novel, Relics.Now, to that Publishers Weekly Review:“Placing these pieces side by side creates a fascinating exercise in worldbuilding: the mythology feels vast and Parker’s characteristically unreliable narrators are even

Announcing Under the Hollywood Sign by Tom Reamy

George R. R. Martin once wrote of Tom Reamy that he “brought to his first efforts such a store of talent, keen observation, and knowledge of humanity that he seemed to spring into being as a major writer full-bloom.” For his sensitively rendered yet darkly gnawing fiction Reamy has been compared to Ray Bradbury, Theodore Sturgeon, Richard Matheson and Jack Finney. Gathered here for the first time in Un
