Early news on Carlos Ruiz Zafon's The Labyrinth of the Spirits, and a forthcoming sale!

The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon
I'm absolutely delighted to let you know that we've just signed the contract to publish the signed limited edition of The Labyrinth of the SpiritsCarlos Ruiz Zafon's conclusion to The Cemetery of Forgotten Books.
I've been lucky enough to spend the past few weeks, through the grace of the author and his publisher, reading Labyrinth, by far the longest and most complex entry in the series of interconnected novels.
(Speaking of interconnected novels, they're a rare breed, even more so than trilogies or open-ended series. I can't think of another sequence this ambitious, this accomplished than Peter Straub's Blue Rose novels and stories that first appeared beginning some thirty years ago. To be sure, Carlos' aims are different than Peter's, but it's a testament to the man I consider our finest working writer [aided no doubt by the illuminating work of his translator, Lucia Graves] that he's met the high bar that Peter set.)
For my money, Labyrinth is also the best novel that Carlos has yet written. More on that project as Vincent Chong works on the art. You can look for Labyrinth to be a highlight of our 2019 schedule.
Now, on to other matters...
If everything goes to plan -- this has been an especially chaotic week -- we'll have at least one sale, and possibly two next Monday morning. Check in early for bargains galore, some with quite limited quantities.
As a teaser, we're in the process of finalizing contracts for a series of books that a ton of people have requested we publish as limited editions. More news on that as soon as the ink is dry.
