We're in the homestretch with Catherynne M. Valente's long new novella, Six-Gun Snow White. The book's fully designed and proofed, and the signature pages are with the author. Unless matters go awry, we should hit our February pub date with little difficulty. That encroaching date means reviews will start to pop up, like the recent starred one from Publishers Weekly. Here's a taste of it:
Valente’s adaptation of the fairy tale to the Old West provides a witty read with complex reverberations from the real world… Any attempt to derive a simple message from this work would be an injustice to the originality of the atmosphere, the complexity of the interplay of its elements, and the simple pleasure of savoring Valente’s exuberant writing.
