Wednesday, April 30th, 2008

novik-victory.jpg

Our good friends at The Signed Page have a rare treat for fans of Naomi Novik — they’ll have signed copies of her new Termeraire novel, Victory of Eagles, available for sale this summer. We’ll be doing an illustrated limited edition of the book, of course, but for those of you who can’t wait to read it, we heartily recommend dealing with Shawn to get signed and personalized books.

In the meantime, our work on the second limited edition, Throne of Jade, is progressing right on schedule for publication late this summer.

Charles de Lint and Jim Butcher — Availability Updates

Saturday, April 26th, 2008

Yellow DogJust a quick update on Charles de Lint’s chapbook, Yellow Dog, which heads to the printer as soon a Charles has a chance to set pen to the signature pages, which are currently en route to him. We’ve received even stronger than usual preorders for this title, which means it may well be out of print on publication. If the orders keep coming in, we won’t be able to meet the demand from large online retailers and wholesalers.

We can safely say the same situation will be the case with the signed limited edition of Jim Butcher’s Storm Front. The only way to secure a copy of this title will be by ordering direct from SubPress. We will not have any copies for distributors or large online retailers.

Order Ray Bradbury’s SKELETONS Before the Price Increases

Wednesday, April 23rd, 2008

SkeletonsEvery once in a while, we underestimate how much a project is going to cost us. Ray Bradbury’s Skeletons is such a beast. Because of that, early next week, we’ll be increasing the price to $20, so this is your last chance to lock in getting a copy at the original price of $15.

Charles de Lint — WHAT THE MOUSE FOUND Heads to the Printer

Tuesday, April 22nd, 2008

What the Mouse FoundAfter a slight lull — only three books are being released this month — we’re preparing a number of titles to head to the printer in the next week, Charles de Lint’s delightful What the Mouse Found among them. The first review for Charles’ collection of children’s stories is in, from Rambles.net: “The stories are very short, easy to digest and easily read aloud. Though brief, they are filled with the rich imagery and almost-alive characterizations that are to be expected in de Lint’s writing. So don’t be surprised if, while reading, you feel a light breeze tickle your feet, hear the crunch of leaves and far-off voices or smell, just at the edge of imagination, a fresh chocolate-chip cookie.”
