Announcing New Books by Ray Bradbury, John Crowley, and Charles de Lint
With all the full-length hardcovers we’ve been releasing this year, we haven’t forgotten how SubPress started small, with chapbooks by Norman Partridge and Ed Gorman. To that end, we have two true chapbooks to announce, and one small, 10,000 word hardcover.
Yellow Dog is Charles de Lint’s storytelling at its finest, with this southwestern flavored tale illustrated by the author himself. As soon as Charles turns in the last couple of original illustrations, due later this month, Yellow Dog will head to the printer.
If Ray Bradbury has penned a more famous single tale than “Skeleton”, we don’t what it is. His new chapbook, Skeletons, contains not only that classic tale, but another, rare story built on the same premise, the latter not reprinted in over 60 years. One of our favorite artists, Dave McKean, is due to turn in the cover and interior illustrations in early to mid April. Please note: only the sixteen copy lettered edition will be signed by Mr. B, and will be the most lavish chapbook production we’ve ever attempted.
Finally, fantasist extraordinaire John Crowley has graced us with a brand-new novelette, Conversation Hearts, we’ll be releasing as a hardcover chapbook, in two editions (1000 unsigned cloth bound copies, and 250 signed numbered leather bound copies). As with our other Crowley productions, we expect this one to be a quick sell out, so get your order in now to avoid disappointment.
