LYE STREET by Alan Campbell

Thursday, January 31st, 2008

Lye StreetAlan Campbell delivers in Lye Street, a gripping novella-length prequel to his acclaimed debut novel, Scar Night. According to Publishers Weekly, “Campbell meshes pity with terror against the bleak phantasmagoric backdrop of a city suspended from chains, swinging dismally over a yawning abyss. In a civilization literally built upon nothing, dark magic and vengeance are the rule of the day, and Campbell will quickly have readers under his creepy and sometimes heartbreaking spell.”

Fantasy Book Critic on Tim Lebbon’s AFTER THE WAR

Saturday, January 26th, 2008

After the WarTim Lebbon’s new collection of two novellas set in his signature world of Noreela is selling quite briskly, thanks to strong reviews in PW, Booklist, and now, Fantasy Book Critic, which ended its lengthy laudatory review by saying “if you’ve never read anything by the author, then I give After the War a glowing recommendation. Not only is it a great introduction to the haunting world of Noreela, but it’s also a tantalizing glimpse into the macabre mind of Tim Lebbon…”
